How to Build a Profitable Agency from Scratch(without investment)
I'm curious to hear about how you all got your start in video editing. What sparked your interest in the field, and how did you go about learning the skills? Did you take any courses, learn on your own, or start with some other kind of media production?
Also,I'd love to know how you landed your first video editing gig. Did you find it through networking, applying online, or did someone you know give you chance?
I'm just starting out myself and looking for inspiration from those who have been there before. any tips or stories i would like tell you about my journey.
MY JOURNEY-
I Started video editing by copying content i liked on youtube/instagram when i was in 7th standard and looking for tutorials (mostly meme style), Afterwards in 12th grade i realized that the easiest way to get footage to edit was to shoot it myself. so i started offering videos to bodybuilders on instagram for free and there was really no pressure to do anything specific so i experimented a lot with different kinds of fitness editing techniques. after 3 to 5 months of work finally i opened my insta account for reaching worldwide clients ( instagram ) there i got many more clients. Youtube has everything you could ever need, but if you are interested in theory blogger is best option.
then how to start video editing business?
first thing you have to learn how to do editing on mobile or pc. i'll recommend to start directly on pc , if you dont have pc then also not problem, you can start on mobile software like CAPCUT / VN this apps are excellent i was also used this apps only because i was not having pc. here i cant teach you how to do editing but i'll guide you how to do it.
if you went on youtube you'll get some video or click the below link. those videos are great definitely you'll understand how video editing work.

must watch those videos. as well as another video also, later you can go for next steps.
after learning video editing you have to do edit your own videos or you can use different raw videos you have to do "color grading, motion cuts , transition, beat matching" etc. invest 2 to 3 months in your own skill learn mistake later you can go for selling your skill, if you want to genuinenly earn from editing you have to invest your time in thise skill.

Select Your Niche
This is the very important factor in this business, so according to your intrest select your niche in mycase mine niche is fitness later i had improved my skills in other fields like educational and real estate etc.
Create portfolio
Client Finding Method
this is mine or i'll say this mathod is very rare no one is using this method to find method clients everyone is busy to writting gigs on fiverr/ upwork. this method is called as directly client approch or face to face conversation. here no one is middle of you as agent to eat commission. so i'll tell you that method.
first thing you have to open instagram and search hashtags like #fitnesscoach or #realestate etc. in my case mine niche is fitness industry, so i was used this method only. after searching those hashtags you'll get creators who creating content without editing. (here comes one secrete in fitness industry they dont have time to edit videos but they have money to spend so here we call it as goldmine.) cilck on thier account and dm them (you have to create one cold dm message format ) now just copy paste your message. on each account on that hashtags. if you got 1 client also for 30rs per video also start you work don't go for money only, build a foundation first. (repeat this cycle only according to your niche)

(If you really want to do thise business you have to do atleast 70 to 100+ cold dm's daily. this is the dark but reality. after starting you business you'll not get your client on first day only you have to do hardwork its not that much of easy ).
how to set your pricing for international clients
my charges are per project or it can be the length of video, my minimum charge is 8$. i do this because managing multiple projects is tricky when a client asks for something urgent and that one hour interruption can extend the time your working on another project.
i don't charge for rendor or upload time unless the project involves an unusual amount, i don't charge for revisions, i make sure i quote to allow enough time to include them.
i charge $8 to $15 because i know my capacity , its depends upon your skill .
Lastly, if you're confident in your work, don't be afraid to charge more, I didn't for a long time for fear of losing work but when i eventually did it had the opposite effect. I'm bringing in about 50% more annual income now for the same amount of work, it's given my business the ability to soutsource more when i don't have hours to spend and reputationally it's put me in a higher quality category of freelancer.
Open Instagram Account
This is the major factor to showcase your work to the client, you can use your name and create instagram page, i used my name only (DR_EDITZ), this is important because if you got 1 ro 2 clients also before this page you can uplode you work and feedback on this page because when you approch to the new client he will see you porfile first then only he will talk with you or he will trust on your work.
